Day 3 - March 16, 2007

This is in my signature on mz. I took some pictures of Frankie in rapid succession. She did not want her picture take and this was the result.

We had these fabulous cabinets, work area and cubbies built in our garage. I took pictures in natural lighting of three different stages as is was getting done. The lights were on in the garage and the garage door was open for additional lighting. The first picture was taken in the morning yesterday, the second in the afternoon (4:30ish) yesterday and the third in the afternoon today. And yes our walls are blue and go with the theme for the week.

using Flash

Here are some pictures I took of Christopher getting ready to leave. I thought I would check out the difference with and without using the flash. I kind of like the picture without the flash better. True, the lighting wasn't perfect, and there are too many shadows, but its also softer. After seeing the pictures Shaun made a good point. He remarked that it now makes sense how someone who looks good in natural lighting may not take the best pictures cause the flash not only washes you out but shows whatever flaws there might be.

What a great idea.

I recently joined on online buddy group of photographers at varying stages through a community of moms (mommy-zone.com) and this is our project: to take one photo per day for an entire year. That's the only stipulation--just take one photo! It can be of anything or anyone. I thought it was such a neat idea and am excited to start one myself! Right now I'm just using a my new Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

I don't even know how all the features on my camera work. I am a beginer and hope to hone my photography skills by doing this. Plus it will be a great look back at a year of pictures. Enjoy the photos and please feel free to leave comments and feedback.

I will start tomorrow March 14, 2007.
